Rep. Dr. Ron Paul of Texas, famed libertarian Congressman, has proposed a new health care reform bill, and this one actually makes sense.  Paul’s bill (H.R. 1495) offers tax cuts in return for health care; as this article states:

Whatever a family has to pay for the doctor, the hospital, the pills or the shots, it could deduct on their federal tax return.

This is an actual reform that would help people.  While it by no means is a cure all, H.R. 1495 provides a great starting point for true health reform.  Instead of forcing taxpayers and employers to spend more money, Dr. Paul’s bill allows families to spend their money on healthcare instead of dumping it into the black hole that dwells inside the federal coffers.  By lowering the cost of living this bill allows families to live healthier for cheaper, a much better option that increasing taxation on families, thereby leaving them less money to spend on a healthy lifestyle.

As the article states, the chances that this bill will be successful are incredibly dismal, but it still shows that better options are out there.
